dc.description.abstractFood delivery businesses are growing by leaps and bounds around the globe, driven by the phenomenal technology advance process, changing consumer-preference structures, and an exponential rise in the penetration of smartphones and the internet. Increasing urbanization and a fast lifestyle have forced many people to look for aid from online food delivery platforms in order to bring ease and variety in food choices. The major players in the world market include UberEATS, DoorDash, Grubhub, and Deliveroo. Players compete with one another to gain a greater market share through intense marketing, strategic tie-ups, and continuous innovation. Amidst COVID-19, the pandemic accelerated even more the need and acceptance of food delivery services which is ordered online, as lockdowns and social distancing accelerate the demand for home-delivered meals. This believe continued post-pandemic since consumers have gotten used to the convenience and safety associated with having food delivered at their front doors.
