Abstract
This research paper aims to analyse the accredited universities in Maharashtra, India based on their institutional Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) scores and criterion-wise Grade Point Average (GPA) scores obtained in seven criteria as of 10th April 2024. The objective is to scrutinize the quality parameters set by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) through scientific analysis and applying relevant statistical tools. An attempt is made to analyse and compare the performance of universities based on type of universities, cycle of accreditation and grades. The accredited universities are further analysed based on their locations and sources of funding. Quantitative techniques are employed to assess the performance of 22 universities of Maharashtra, India. Performance of Deemed to be Universities is found to be better compared to State Universities in terms of institutional CGPA scores and all the seven criterion-wise GPA scores. This study is also an effort to understand the universities' perspectives on NAAC assessments.
