Crafting Digital Solutions: A Business Analyst's Journey Through Software Development Lifecycle Interned at XS Cad India Pvt. Ltd.

Abstract

The following report, "Business Analysis in Action: In-Depth Exploration during My MBA Internship", gives an account of all my practical experiences as an interning Business Analyst at XS CAD INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED. This summer internship, part of my MBA curriculum, afforded an opportunity like no other to apply theoretical knowledge to real-life practical business situations, specializing in MEP design support, CAD & BIM services, and other related architectural and engineering solutions. In this internship, I was actively involved in various key business processes, which included but were not limited to Business Requirement Document Outline Creation, User Stories Creation, Stakeholder Communication & Workshops, External Agency Coordination, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Bugs Fixing Coordination, and Application Go-Live Preparation. All these activities helped me acquire a good understanding of the project lifecycle and the importance of business analysis in ensuring project success. Under the guidance of my faculty mentor, Dr Shashikant Patil, coupled with insights by industry professionals, I explored and used a number of key tools: Zoho One, MS Visio, and Figa. This helped bridge the gap in understanding between academic concepts and industrial practices, since detailed views were provided for the processes that result in successful outcomes. This report elaborates on how this internship has been instrumental in developing my analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Moreover, this exposure to practical life falls parallel to the emerging demand of the business world for professional services in the fields of architecture and engineering. This executive summary will be used to provide an overview of, in a nutshell, the serious learning and reflection that will be shown in the subsequent sections of this report, which can be an actual transformation of this internship concerning my professional development.
