| dc.description | Project Report on CARATS AND CLIENTS (2024-2026) Under the Guidance of DR. KAVITA NIKAM | |
| dc.description.abstract | The title of my internship report is “Carats and Clients”. It talks about my experience as a Sales Managing Intern at Chaturdas Tikamdas & Sons Jewellers (CTS Jewellers). This is a well-known family jewellery shop. They are experts in diamonds, gold jewellery, gemstones, and pearls. This report provides a comprehensive overview of my learnings during the internship, which was undertaken from 13th May 2025 to 1st August 2025 as part of the 2nd-year MBA Toolbox curriculum. The internship offered me an opportunity to bridge theoretical business knowledge with the practical dynamics of luxury retail and jewellery sales. My role exposed me to multiple aspects of the business, from diamond assorting based on clarity grades (VVS, VS, SI), to customer relationship management, sales execution, and supplier coordination. I also gained experience in digital outreach, where I contributed by boosting Instagram content, conducting product photography, and sending jewellery updates to customers via WhatsApp broadcast lists. Working closely with senior sales managers and suppliers enabled me to develop an in-depth understanding of the jewellery retail process, from procurement to final sale. I actively participated in purchasing new jewellery collections, interacted with clients to close high-value sales, and explored digital marketing strategies to expand customer reach. These experiences sharpened my technical skills in gemstones and diamonds, while also improving my managerial capabilities in negotiation, persuasion, and customer engagement. Under the guidance of my faculty mentor , Dr. Kavita Nikam, I was able to critically connect classroom learning with practical exposure in the jewellery sector. This internship not only enhanced my knowledge of sales and business development in a high-value luxury market but also strengthened my ability to adapt, communicate effectively, and contribute to a legacy-driven organization in a competitive industry. This executive summary offers a preview of the detailed insights, reflections, and recommendations presented in the report. It highlights how my internship at CTS Jewellers provided valuable exposure to both the craftsmanship and the client-centric approach that define success in the jewellery industry, making it a transformative step in my personal and professional growth. | |
