dc.description.abstractThe given report is the summary of my two-month summer internship at Rohilya Foods Pvt. Ltd., a famous company of sweets and namkeens located in Kota, Rajasthan. The internship was pursued as a Business Development Associate and was aimed at the modernization of the operations, data analytics exploitation, and the need to find new growth opportunities. The internship started by getting an induction of how the company functions, and I was exposed to the production, sales, inventory and interacting with the customers. This base allowed me to find the areas of neglect and the possibility of improvement, especially in the spheres of digitalization and effectiveness of processes. My core contributions included: ● ERP Implementation (DotPe): Consolidated billing, inventory, and vendor/customer transactions hence lessening manual mistakes in addition to increasing real time operational visibility. ● Data Analytics and Forecasting: Implemented multi-year analysis in sales trends to forecast the festive demand and this lowered the stock-outs by 30 percent and minimized inventory based costs by 10 percent. ● Digital Marketing Campaigns: Initiated data-driven online promotion and offers which resulted in a 20 percent growth in online sales and 15 percent in increase in profit margins. It was challenging but I gained my technical (ERP, forecasting, campaign analytics), analytical skills (important business (inventory optimization, vendor management, strategic planning) and soft (communication, adaptability, stakeholder management) skills. All in all the experience I had had throughout this internship was invaluable because it has given me exposure on the how of a fast growing FMCG company. It also highlighted the importance of tradition and technology in uniting and importance of facts in strategy making. The acquired knowledge and experiences will become a great foundation of my future practice as a consultant and a business analyst.
