A Strategic Internship Experience in Accounts & Finance in Jewelex India Pvt. Ltd.

Abstract

The three months of my internship at Jewelex India Pvt. Ltd. provided a heavy insight into the practical accounting and finance realm. This was not only a learning process of new skills but also of putting all I spent in the classroom into the practical world at one of the most popular Jewellery corporations. Important Lessons and Accountabilities. Working there, I worked on a particular project that concerned LG Electronics India Pvt. and thus, I was able to look at the complexities of corporate accounting in a new light. My job was no longer work on one particular task or work but I was engaging in diverse major accounting functions that any business cannot do without. Bank Reconciliation: I had a practical experience in balancing bank statements, correcting them and assisting in the elimination of discrepancies. GST and TDS: I participated in the calculation and filing of GST and TDS and got to know about these difficult tax systems practically. Vendor Management: I was able to experience handling vendor accounts and the process of making payments on time and of the needed quality and the necessity to keep track of the proper professional relations. MIS Reporting: I was assisted with Management Information System (MIS) reporting, which gave me an understanding on how to present financial information in an effective way to aid in making business decisions.
