Abstract
The internship with XS CAD Ltd. involved the examination and development of marketing, as well as
digital marketing strategies within the company; providing a sound example where academic knowledge
crossed over to practical industry practice thereby closing gaps that existed between theory from academia
interacting in live workplace scenarios. I also had the opportunity to complete a range of different
marketing projects during my internship, including competitor and customer analyses; maintenance of
social media accounts for HBRJWS; keyword research for SEO (Hirshot); creating entries within
company intranet system regarding plagiarism and copyrights etc. I helped create marketing portfolios
and performed corporate social responsibility (CSR) duties.
Key takeaways One of the key learnings from XS CAD is gaining a deep understanding market research,
especially competitor benchmarking and customer insight analysis that was critical to positioning the
company in Global AEC marketplace. While managing social media, I was able to perfect my content
creation abilities and further develop in SEO — mostly via full keyword research. In addition, tasks on
plagiarism and copyright acquainted me with intellectual property laws and attributed importance of
digital content as well community responsibility activities offered a perspective to corporate social
responsibly CSR: branding tool etc.
The most complicated one was to perform in-depth competitor analysis among all key participants of a
competitive global market which have many data and you had find out everything about them, prepared
not only numbers but actionable insights. This challenge was something I used to address by doing a lot
of research & using the tools with great analytics capabilities.
