dc.description.abstract | This research paper explores the role of Self Help Groups ( SHGs) in promoting women empowerment and examining their impact on socioeconomic transformation. SHGs have emerged as a powerful tool for empowering women by providing a platform for collective action, resource mobilization, and skill enhancement. The study delves into the multifaceted dimensions of women empowerment, including economic, social, and political aspects, and investigates the changes experienced by women after joining SHGs. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature, the paper analyzes the outcomes of SHG interventions, highlighting their contributions to income generation, financial inclusion, social capital formation, and increased decision-making power. The research also explores the challenges and opportunities associated with SHGs in achieving sustainable and inclusive empowerment. The findings of this study contribute to a better understanding of the potential of SHGs as agents of socioeconomic transformation, shedding light on the mechanisms through which women's empowerment can be facilitated at individual, household, and community level. | |
